What is Clash of Vikings

Clash of Vikings is a browser-based card strategy game heavily inspired by Clash Royale, putting you in a one-versus-one battle against an opposing Viking kingdom where the goal is to destroy your enemy’s castle and guard towers before the three-minute timer runs out. Each side of the battlefield starts with one main cannon and two defensive towers, and the player who destroys the opponent’s cannon or both towers first wins the match — if neither player manages that within three minutes, the player who has destroyed more towers is declared the winner. You build a deck of eight cards before each battle, choosing from a mix of troops, heroes, ranged units, and spells, and deploy them during the match by spending magic points that slowly recharge over time. The battlefield is divided by a river with bridges connecting each side, meaning your units always start on your side of the map and must cross the bridges to engage the enemy, which creates natural chokepoints that force you to think carefully about both attack and defense simultaneously. In the final sixty seconds of every match the card recharge rate increases dramatically, turning the last minute into a frantic all-out assault that can completely reverse the outcome of a match that seemed decided just moments before.

Controls

Clash of Vikings is controlled entirely with the mouse on desktop and with taps and drags on mobile, making it immediately accessible on any device without any complicated inputs to learn. To play a card you simply click on it from your hand at the bottom of the screen, drag it to the position on your side of the battlefield where you want to deploy it, and release to place it — your units will then automatically march forward toward the enemy without any further input from you. The interface also features a pause button in the top left corner, a timer in the top right showing how much time remains in the match, and a score tracker on the right side of the screen showing how many towers each player has destroyed. The deck management screen is accessible before each battle and lets you swap cards in and out of your eight-card lineup, review the stats of every card in your collection, and build a strategy around the combination of units and spells that best suits your playstyle. Getting consistently good at Clash of Vikings comes down to disciplined resource management, smart deck building, and understanding how different unit types interact with each other across the bridge chokepoints that define every match. The most important habit to develop early is never spending all of your magic points at once, because an empty resource bar leaves you completely defenseless against a push from your opponent, and recovering from a well-timed enemy assault with no cards to play is nearly impossible. Always balance your deck between ranged units that can attack from a distance, tanky melee troops that absorb damage at the front of a push, and spells that can either eliminate clustered enemy units or deal direct damage to towers when your ground troops are being stopped at the bridge. Pay close attention to which units your opponent deploys repeatedly, since most players lean on the same two or three cards throughout a match, and building a counter strategy around those specific units is far more effective than simply mirroring their pushes with your own identical force.

<-Tips to Dominate

The bridge chokepoints are the most important area of the entire battlefield — a small group of powerful units crossing a bridge together is dramatically harder to stop than the same units sent across one at a time, so always try to stack multiple troops in coordinated pushes rather than trickling them forward individually. Save your most powerful spell cards for the final sixty seconds when the recharge rate increases and both players are flooding the field with units, since landing a heavy spell on a densely packed group of enemy troops during the final push can swing the entire outcome of the match in a single play.
