What Is Fleeing the Complex?
Fleeing the Complex is the fifth installment in the beloved Henry Stickmin series, developed by PuffballsUnited. The game places Henry Stickmin inside a high-security facility known as The Wall, located in the snowy mountains of Canada, and your mission is to navigate through a series of choices to help Henry escape, each decision leading to hilarious outcomes or unexpected failures. The story begins with Warden Dmitri Johannes Petrov and his second-in-command Grigori Olyat discovering Henry’s lengthy criminal record and deeming him dangerous enough to be incarcerated at The Wall, after which Henry is knocked unconscious and transferred to a holding cell. The game features five different endings and sixty unique fail animations, and a brand new map system makes it super easy to jump back to any scene you have already seen. The five endings are Convict Allies, Ghost Inmate, International Rescue Operative, Presumed Dead, and The Betrayed, each taking Henry down a completely different path with its own tone, characters, and outcome. The game is also directly tied into the final chapter of the Henry Stickmin Collection, as the ending you choose here combines with your choices from Infiltrating the Airship to determine how the overall story concludes.
Controls
Just like every other game in the Henry Stickmin series, Fleeing the Complex is played entirely with the mouse. You use the left mouse button to click on your chosen option at each decision point, triggering a unique sequence of events depending on what you pick. The game also introduces a timer for Quick Time Events, indicating how long you have to select an item, and notably some options only become available near the end of the countdown, meaning you need to pay attention and sometimes wait before clicking. The map feature, accessible in the bottom left corner, tracks how many endings you have uncovered and allows you to instantly revisit any choice screen from any of the five endings without having to replay from the beginning. The right mouse button is used to collect character bios by clicking on characters in any scene, which is a fun collectible system for players who want to experience everything the game has to offer. Fleeing the Complex rewards thorough, patient players who are willing to explore every single branch the game has to offer rather than rushing toward one ending and stopping there. There are 18 achievements to unlock, adding an extra layer of challenge and replayability for completionists who want to get everything out of the game. One of the best habits to develop is using the map constantly, since it lets you jump back to any previous decision point instantly without sitting through scenes you have already watched.

<-Tips to Dominate
For hidden secrets and medals, clicking the moon at the end of the Presumed Dead ending after the credits triggers a hidden Shoop Da Whoop, and you can find another one by selecting the Item option and spam clicking the item box during the Transfer Cells Blockade chase, and a third by clicking the moon during the Shadozer cutscene at the Docks. During the Hallway Standoff, picking the Sniper Rifle and Crossbow combination and then clicking the instant replay option after Henry’s move unlocks a medal and a hilarious parody of over-the-top YouTube montages. In three different cutscenes during the Ghost Inmate route, Henry falls flat on his face, but if you spam click where he would have landed you can make him stick the landing — this works after selecting Power Jump in Outside Security, after selecting Helium in the Bowels of the Complex, and after selecting Leaf at the Docks. To unlock the Golden Boy achievement you need to watch all 60 unique fail endings, and to get the achievement for failing 101 times you can simply pick a short fail scene and keep replaying it until the counter hits the target. Finally, remember that the ending you reach here carries directly into Completing the Mission, so exploring all five endings is not just fun — it also gives you the most options when it comes time to finish the entire Henry Stickmin Collection.
